DUI Sentencing Guidelines and Department of Licensing
Washington, like most other states throughout the nation, is cracking down on drunk driving. The legislature has adopted laws over the past decade that has significantly strengthened penalties for DUI/DWI convictions.
Drunk driving charges are serious criminal charges and should not be taken lightly. A conviction for drunk driving can result in a loss of driving privileges, public embarrassment, damage to your employment opportunities, and possibly a sentence in county jail or state prison. If you have a previous conviction and are on probation, a drunk driving offense will also likely be a probation violation.

DOL/DMV Hearings
Our firm takes a dual approach to handling DUI/DWI cases. In addition to handling the criminal side of your case, we also handle Department of Licensing hearings. Department of Licensing hearings are civil hearings concerning the rights of people to drive and operate motor vehicles. If you have been arrested for DUI/DWI, you have 30 days to request a telephone hearing with the Department of Licensing. The hearing will take place within 60 days of your arrest. Depending on the severity of the offense and a person's prior record, they may face the suspension or revocation of their license.
Our attorneys help people protect their driving privileges at Department of Licensing hearings, including requests for an occupational or restricted license for work, medical appointments, school, and other necessary tasks.
